Update on the Walls for Women mural project

Update on the mural project:
It has now been 36 days since we approached the Historic Zoning Commission to try to work together on welcoming the pro-bono mural that was gifted to our coffee shop by Walls for Women.
We have some good news, there is going to be a second vote for the approval of this mural during a meeting on July 7th!
In the last meeting on May 19th the vote was split. One of the reasons why a few of the board members did not let us accept this free mural was because they did not know what it would look like. Understandable! In the updated COA, we have included a rendering of the art work which we feel will lead to the approval of this mural.
The city is no longer virtually meeting by zoom, so this meeting will be held at the local Martin police station.
We are starting to become a little worried about the timeline on this project.
This mural project has to be completed by August 18th and we are 1 of 10 other mural projects celebrating 100 years of Women's Suffrage.
We need to the be approved on July 7th in order to have enough time for Walls for Women to install this mural.
It’s been a very long process filled with many phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings, but we feel like it’s coming to a positive end!
This is a chance for all of us to welcome something great into Martin, Tennessee. We need to work together, and I believe this project can symbolize that.
